Those involved in the retail, wholesale and food-service industry now have a new tool designed to help them find information on the availability of locally grown fruits and vegetables.
Canada’s Produce Place is a stand-alone website that provides up-to-date-information on the availability of carrots, celery, lettuce and onions in Ontario and Quebec.
The site is easily navigated with buyers able to search for available products or for a complete list of growers. Once in one of the directories, buyers can narrow their search by product or grower, taking them to a listing that includes the product name, type and size; the grower identification number, which is a live link to that grower’s specific information; the package size; the date the product is available and the quantity available.
