The purpose of the Rural Landowner Stewardship Guide is to help rural landowners who wish to protect and enhance natural features and environmental quality on their properties. This will add value to landowners’ enjoyment of their lands as well as contribute to the long-term protection of our natural heritage and clean water for future generations of Ontarians.
The Guide is designed for landowners who can use the worksheets in the guide to help them rate their activities and develop a practical action plan to improve environmental quality and protect natural features. Agencies and NGOs can use the Guide as curriculum or supporting material for a variety of education and incentive initiatives, including landowner workshops, site visits, webinars, videos and grant programs.
