Dr. Gopi Paliyath is a professor at the University of Guelph in the Department of Plant Agriculture. Amongst the long list of interests, he is interested in issues of post harvesting and shelf- life and quality of fruits and vegetables. He was recently interviewed by the ECVOntario research team and discussed the shelf life and health benefits of locally produced fruits and vegetables, including ethno-cultural vegetables.
