•Purchasing event tickets (individually or by the table). Each table holds a maximum of 10 people. Tickets are $150.00 per person. We will be limited to 200 people and suggest you respond or Click for Tickets.

The Harvest Table  – 2014 Fundraiser

Please to join us to celebrate the fall harvest and support a new generation of ecological farmers at our 3rd Harvest Table Dinner, at Earth to Table

Farm in Flamborough, Ontario on Saturday, October 4, 2014. The crisp fall evening will be filled with charm and delectable things to
taste! Join us for a farm tour and hors d’oeuvres, a four course family-style Harvest Table dinner, live entertainment, silent auction and more.
Executive Chef Jeff Crump of Earth to Table (and the Ancaster Mill) will prepare the delicious meal featuring the farms fresh organic vegetables
and pastured chickens, along with other locally produced organic meat, cheese, beer and wine.

Join 200 guests as well as our farmers at our long harvest tables, with the century barn gables reaching overhead and a stunning view over the farm fields and the Niagara Escarpment. All funds raised support FarmStart’s programs and services that help new ecological farmers get started on a successful path to farming.

We are facing a very real crisis of renewal in agriculture within the next 10 years. Canadian farmers are getting older and fewer young people are
entering farming. Across this country almost 75% of our farmers who will be retiring in the next 10 years do not have an identified successor.
This the fastest pace of decline in history, with fewer and fewer farmers producing our food in the future…unless there are young and new farmers
to take their place.

FarmStart supports passionate and dedicated new farmers who are undertaking the thrilling, exhausting and rewarding journey of becoming
a farmer. We work with farmers, some who have come from all over the world each at different stages in life but who are all committed to
producing good, healthy food for their communities. These farmers take the resources that FarmStart offers and are creating real, delicious changes that begin within their own lives and spreads far into our communities and farmlands around them.
At the Earth to Table Farm, FarmStart is building a new Start-Up Farm on back 50 acres of rich land, along side the new apple orchards, butchery
and the important wetlands.

Working ‘on the ground’ with new farmers, we provide access to land, equipment, and infrastructure as well as mentorship and support during their first 5 years. FarmStart is currently developing a training farm to provide prospective new farmers experience with a pastured livestock operation. This season at the Earth to Table Start-Up Farm there are 4 farmers (farm teams), ranging from their first to their fourth year digging in and starting their new farms growing a diverse range of crops including; honey and over a hundred varieties of vegetables, as well as pastured chickens. The produce is beautiful, freshly picked, and sold directly to consumers through farmers markets, restaurants, and “you-pick” operations.
